Thanks to everyone for dropping by my recent art shows and market!

As the warmer weather begins in spring, the art show circuit starts up for me. It’s a good time of year for me and I look forward to meeting up with fellow art aficionados at these shows.

Thanks to everyone who recently dropped by the Art Guild of Scarborough Spring Show April 6 & 7, the Royal York United Church Spring Market April 20 and the ongoing Don Valley Art Club Spring Show & Sale April 17 to 27.

You can find information on upcoming shows right here on the events page of my website.

See you soon!

Last of 2023/First of 2024

Just finished my first painting of 2024.

“Lower Don Trail Footbridge” was started a few weeks ago…way back in 2023. My how time flies.

It’s been awhile since I’ve completed a new painting. Very happy to have this piece finished. It reflects one of the many great trails here in Toronto and one of my regular walking trails close to home.

See you soon with another painting.

Happy New Year!

Early Christmas Markets

Thanks for dropping by to the early Christmas Markets this year.

St. Barnabas is quickly becoming a regular seasonal spot for me. I love this well organized show and it looks like you might like it too as we had lots of foot traffic coming through the doors. With local artisans and prize draws on November 4th, I had lots of fun meeting the shopping public and fellow vendors.

This was my first year at the Bloor West Village Holiday Market and it won’t be my last. Another well organized show and lots of people coming through the doors this past Saturday November 11th. This was a chance for me to spend time in the west end of Toronto for a change. It was great meeting all the local people and vendors.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by my booth during the shows. Hope to see you again soon.

Cheers!

Thanks for coming out to my summer art shows...

It’s been a busy summer and it’s not over yet.

This past Saturday’s light rain did not stop the Art in the Garden Show. Located behind the Lynde House Museum in Whitby, I enjoyed meeting all the arts and crafts aficionados and vendors. Beautiful venue for an art show!

The Aurora Skylight Gallery features my own solo show for the month of July. I feel honoured to have my work on display in this beautiful space. The show continues until July 28th!

The Whitchurch-Stouffville Art in the Park in June was a fun gathering with lots of artists and art curious on the grounds of Memorial Park.

And the Riverdale Art Walk in early June was a blast! The first time participating in this show and it I will definitely attend in future.

Thanks to everyone who has come out to the shows! Art is often a solitary pursuit. It’s the shows and meeting the art aficionados that make the art so much fun.

Cheers!

A few successes...

So glad we are done with lockdowns! I do believe its having the chance to finally get my art out to the viewing public that has helped me to sell several paintings lately. As much as I like to paint in my studio, I do eventually run out of space to store finished paintings. It’s always satisfying to find new homes for my finished art pieces.

Thanks to my fellow art aficionados out there who like the end results of my artistic endeavours.

Thanks for coming out to the DVAC and Aurora Art Shows

We had a great turnout at both shows. Lots of viewers and lots of buyers. There’s always something for everyone with these group shows. The many artists offer a variety of styles, themes and mediums.

I’m happy to say I had several sales over the course of these shows. It was fun meeting the public and seeing fellow artists in person.

Enjoy the spring weather and see you again soon.

Getting ready for spring shows...!

My first shows of the season begin mid April!

Drop by Todmorden Mills on April 12th between 7 and 9pm for the opening reception of the Don Valley Art Club’s Spring Show and Sale. Each artist has one featured work on the wall of this fabulous gallery and up to another 3 pieces simultaneously shown on line.

This show runs from April 12th to May 7th. More info can be found on this link to my Events page.

On the weekend of April 14 and 15th, the OAA hosts their annual spring show inside one of the rustic log cabins on the beautiful grounds of Camp Samac in Oshawa.

There will be lots of local artists to meet and great art to view and purchase. I’ll be happy to greet you at my booth #17.

Check my events page for more info.

Check back for more updates on these and other upcoming shows.

Happy Spring!

Com-missions complete!

After spending the month of January producing landscapes, I have spent some time in February working on commissions. Today I’m happy to say that I’m caught up on those projects.

This cute pup’s portrait is off to her home. “Maisy”, 8 x 10 acrylic on canvas and supplied in an 11x14 mat - is ready to be framed and hung up on the wall.

“Robins for Carol” was my second commission for the month. This 8 x 10 gallery wrap is already settled in with its new owner.

And the last of the projects, “1935 Morris 8” is off to its new owner in England soon. 12 x 16 gallery wrapped canvas.

Next projects? See you again soon with a few more landscapes.

2023 - Bring it on!

Hello 2023!

The last few years have had its ups and downs. I hope this year is a good one for everyone.

If I had to rank myself on being pessimistic or optimistic, I would say that I fall between realistic and optimistic.

On the realistic side, I think a lot of work happens to make things happen. Yet even with that work, sometimes things don’t always turn out the way you would like. There are some factors one does not have control over. On the optimist side, I believe in learning from both failures and successes to determine what works, what is self defeating and what I can change going forward. There are many factors that I can control within my own life. That goes for my personal life and for my art.

So at the start of this year and as I do most years, I’m reassessing my personal art goals and one of those goals is to remind myself that for me, art, like anything else, is a process. No matter the outcomes, I want to enjoy the journey.

Wishing everyone a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year!

Cheers!
